im starting uni this year and enrolled in commerce/arts
i plan to major in: accounting, business law, chinese and japanese
can ppl please give me advise about this combination, is it good or is it bad?

what to enrol as my courses in first semester

Your commerce majors are fine but I'd suggest going for one language and something else instead of two?

As for Semester 1, refer to course handbook and just pick 3 core courses and an elective.

im interested in these two languages and the other options do not rly interest me.

um...so i will not be choosing any language courses this semester?...and what is an elective?

i'm doing comm/arts too. are we meant to choose 2 of the compulsory commerce courses then 2 arts courses or does it not matter as long as we're doing 24 UOC this semester :S

well what i did was enrol in all 4 core compulsory courses this sem.
that would mean...that ill be enrolling in 4 courses next sem as in one year it is required to do 4 bus courses n 4 arts n social science courses..

if i made any mistake plz tell me =D

TIP: if you guys plan to do 2 language majors AND 2 commerce majors, i would recommend doing 2 arts and 2 commerce in 1st year, otherwise you'll find that by the end of your degree you won't have enough time/space to fit in the 2nd arts major.
This was from my experience and I have regretted not doing the above for spanish AND french.

What I did do in 1st yr uni was 2 commerce core, 1 arts and 1 commerce elective (as I wasn't sure what commerce major I wanted to do, so I tried out the elective).

IT doesn't matter what combo you do as long as you're doing 24uoc for a full-time load then you're sweet.
