Ok. So i stupidly chose maths. I have missed out A LOT of my year 9 and 10 maths and failed my year 11 yearlys. So I have NO idea what any of what I'm doing is and I do nto have a text book with examples bcause my tecaher will not give them to us.

I'm going to put up a few variations of what im having trouble with. Basically I need a step by step on HOW to get the answer.

7y - 5y = 6y

9 = 5(2b+3)

7d - 1 = 5d + 11

2(x + 5) = 3(x-1)

If your really stuck this book
is cheap and easy to understand, but try and arrange a meeting during at lunch or something with your maths teacher to discuss the issues that you are having.

OK - the basic rule is whatever you can do to one side you can do to the other.

^ That is extremely important so don't forget to do that!
I would recommend perhaps buying EXCEL books on math. You can buy one for yrs 9,10, 11 and 12. Just buy the one you need and do the chapters / exercises you need help on. They helped me out.

I'm not good at inequations, but they don't appear often, so I still can do 2U Maths. General Maths isnt as easy as you all think.

I dont know that i do math(ish) things the "right" way but i usually get there lol ...
heres what i got:

7y - 5y = 6y (carry out operation)
2y=6y (/2)
y=3y (-y)
0=2y (/2)
0=y


9 = 5(2b+3) (expand)
9=10b +15 (-9)
0=10b +6 (-6)
-6=10b (/10)
-6/10 = b
= -3/5 = b

7d - 1 = 5d + 11 (+1)
7d = 5d +12 (-5d)
2d=12 (/2)
d=6



2(x + 5) = 3(x-1) (expand)
2x+10=3x-3 (+3)
2x+13=3x (-2x)
13=x
