it’s p easy the figure out there aren’t many 1 unit subjects with state ranks from the same school in spots 7 and 8

This is only for state ranks that they do this in. Besides, your rank may be 'bad' to you but if your cohort is promising and there are lots of ties (i.e. multiple students sharing the same few ranks) then its fine tbh.

that's good news for me then i think? I'd say i'm kinda close to top 20% in my advanced english cohort but we have some people who are extremely good at writing, like people have had special state/region awards given to them and such and i'd say there's not much separation between marks.
