Looking back, I remember some area in arithmetic series (i think) where I always had to add 1 to something...

What area would that be? I totally forgot...

Most probably superannuation...Always have to (n+1) and shit..

Arithmetic:

T2-T1=T3-T2
Tn=a+(n-1)d
Sn=n/2(2a+(n-1)d)

..thats all there is to kno in arithmetic, isnt it?.. thats all i knew anyway

Let me guess:
Say we have
1 + r + r² + ........... + rⁿ
Counting the number of terms and there are (n + 1) terms, not n.
It's a common trap people fall into...
