you know how the dot points are seperated into two columns
one with
"students to learn:"

and the secound columnL: "students"
this columb usually have first hand investigations, gather secoundary information, GATHER ANAYLSE PRESENT history of blah blah blah

do they test u on these secoundary information??in the final HSC exam
cause i cant be bothered to go and research for secoundary info.. if its not going to be tested
do they also test for u experiment results?

Yes they do. They can test the concepts in the second column such as the westinghouse vs edison debate and einstein/planck's work and how political and societal values affect scientific research.
They can also ask questions regarding experiments you should have done.

You should only use them as a guide, they are useful summaries which you should cross-reference with your own notes.

Probably not, as I said you should use other sources for reference.

Not likely, because band 6 questions require a detailed response which demonstrate extensive knowledge of the key concepts of the question as well as physics in general.
Also, ANY syllabus content can be assessed in the HSC. Not only do these include the main content but also the skills, outcomes, knowledge and understanding part of the syllabus as well (See section 9.1 of the syllabus). ALL questions assess a certain outcome, which are often abbreviated as H1, H2, H3...etc. I think every year in both trial exams and the official exams, there have been questions which ONLY assess certain skills and outcomes. These questions usually have little to do with the specific content you have learned in the course and often ask about general areas of science such as source reliability, hazards and presenting information in various forms like a table or graph.

I've been trying to get around to all corners of the physics course, it's important that you don't miss out on any of the dotpoints because you never know what could be examined this year.

exactly. All the band 6 students will be making sure that they know every single thing that's mentioned on the syllabus. And that's what we should all do for all our subjects.

OMG... so much to study
how much study do u guys do for physicS?
i'm having trouble completeing the course..

I've studied Space and ITI mostly.
I haven't been motivated enough to study too much of Motors and Generators.

I'll be doing that tomorrow, since today was Chemistry.

Yeah all the dot points can be examined even the practical ones. I saw from some year a question that said something about to talk about crap from some experiment that you had performed or something. Thats gonna suck for me though cuz we hardly have done ANY practicals.....

And for studying physics... well the good thing that i find aobut physics is once you can actually understand something in physics you wont forget it. other subjects that you cant actually understand anything suck cuz then you would have to rely mainly on memorising the information in order to do well. I also find it that i dont really understand much just by reading something from the book. I have to actually write up notes such that i can understand, so if you have problems understanding try to write up notes. You'll realise maybe that you need to consult other books and websites to be able to understand concepts that your core book skims through.

I often use wikipedia (http://www.wikipedia.org/) to help my understanding of certain concepts. I also found a website http://www.colorado.edu/physics/2000/TOC.html which is good at explaining some topics we have to do (i found it very useful for de broglie's theory of the wave nature of matter).

Also as i said above i write up notes. By this i dont mean "summarise" i actually mean notes. For each section i might get up to 10 pages, and spend about a day writing them up.
