Hey, I recently bought a 40GB iPod, and it doesn't seem to like my computer. It works with all other computers, and the service guy reckons it's my USB card. How do I know what USB card I am using? I know I'm running USB 2.0...and that's about it.

Help?

Which operating system are you running? Do you know what motherboard you have?

Do you have other USB devices you can use? Do they work on your computer? Does the computer respond at all when you plug in your iPod?

You can find out what motherboard you have with this program. You might be able to find updated USB drivers from the manufacturer's website.

Hey i just bought an ipod too ! 20gb 4G for only 404 with student discount :D

Ive read up in the manual i think, that some ports are not recognised.
And if your pluggin it into a PCI USB Card maybe it is not powered - and thats why.
I think there is a trick to "by-pass" the requirement of having it powered.
Check out, www.ipodlounge.com

If all else fails, try a firewire port. :)
