You notice that:

$a^3+b^3 = (a+b)(a^2-ab+b^2)$

Therefore given expression

$= \frac {(a^2) + (a-b)(a+b) + (a^2-ab+b^2)}{a^3 + b^3} = \frac {3a^2 - ab}{a^3 + b^3}$
