help with motion problems (1 Viewer)

hi, i have some problems with motion problems. i would like to ask:

how do we know which way a particle is moving i.e. to the left or to the right of the origin?

how do we know a particle is slowing down or accelerating?

(not sure on these ones, please clarify...)
to find max acceleration, do we let velocity equal to 0?

to find max velocity, do we let acceleration eaul to 0?

the latter two, are there any other ways to work it out?

Question will normally say where particle starts. But if not to left of origin X is negative and to right X is positive. And to remember all that crap you mentioned in later part of post think of a pendulum.

When stationary. displacement= o
velocity= max
accel= 0
and when the pendulum swings to its furtherest distance (how ever big your page is lol) displacement= max
velocity= o
accel= max

Keep in mind that Shady01's pointers refer to Simple Harmonic Motion, and maximum displacement is also known as the amplitude.
