Hi, at the moment i am doing my PIP. My topic/question is: The effects of modern day techology on the children of today. When i say technology i am referring to video games and computer games.

The chapters that i will use (unless i change my mind), will be:

1. Negatives – scapegoat for all children’s problems
-Obesity
-Hazards
-Violence
2. Positives – Video games not all that bad?
-Skills
-Letting out of aggression
-Socialisation
3. Gender differnces

I have started to writing my PIP the only problem is that i need another source of primary research. I am really starting to stress over this seeing as i have no idea what to do. So far i have only used 1 method of primary research, which was a questionnaire, given ot to 10 - 16year olds.

If anyone has any suggestions as to another source of primary research that i might be able to incorporate within my PIP, or any suggestions that might help please post them up. I would be appreciative of any help. :)

Maybe you could conduct an interview with school teachers of 10-16 year olds.
They might be able to provide information about the learning habits of their students (information retention + recall and concentration levels etc) and then you could perhaps draw your own conclusions about these habits and if they are influenced by technology, linking them back to your PIP question?

I didn't do a PIP last year so I could be completely off the point, but I wish you luck. :)

using only 1 primary research methodology will make your data invalid.

you need to use atleast 3 more.
Conduct an expert interview with a sociologist, conduct in-depth interviews with family [what is your cross culture component anywho?] and conduct a focus group [2 focus groups, to help with your last chapter]
