I'm having trouble finding comprehensive info on:
Define orbital velocirty and the quantitative and qualitative relationship between orbital velocity, the grav. constant, mass of central body, mass of satellite and radius of the orbit using Kepler's law of periods.

Can someone please help?!

Yeah, I've looked at the HSC online website. It covers the 'quantitatively' part but not the 'qualitatively' part.

Qualitative is taking the equations and explaining what they mean. So, for example: (Taken from HSC Online)



As distance from the planet increases (ie d), then the orbital velocity decreases. Therefore, the closer a body is to the planet the faster it must go to stay in orbit. Likewise, the more massive the planet, the greater the speed it must go. A satellite at an orbit distance around Saturn would need to go faster than if it were orbiting, say, Mars.

Also, since in Kepler's Eq'n period squared is proportional to the mean radius cubed, the greater the mean radius of the satellite's orbit the greater the period of its orbit (taken from Get Smart Physics).
