Atmosphere: Excellant, a green uni with plenty of lawns and not a concrete jungle, everything is well spread out and organised. People are friendly and theres hardly any conflicts.
Lectures: Vary immensely, but most of the big ones are in the Hope Theatre or 67.102 which are comfortable enough to sit there for 2 hours, lecturers vary because it's like teachers, some are good, some aren't.... if you miss a lecture, 90% of the time, notes will be on the net so you won't miss much if you don't turn up for whatever reason.
Life: Pretty laid back, doesn't really have that striving for excellance push like a Syd Uni or NSW and in that, there's also a lot more social activities, from social sport, to the unibar which is always got a band playing on a wednesday lunch or thursday night.... being in wollongong, it usually gets the big bands doing their warm up gigs before heading to sydney for their main gigs at the metro and the horden etc. and it's never overly packed.
Chicks: Plenty, and there is quite a bit of talent too. There are quite a few asian students, but mostly international students, other big groups are the Americans and Canadians.... There's not many local asian students but thats mostly due to the fact that its a blue collar industrial area with strong anglo-saxon and european communities.... in other words, there's plenty of Asian students, but not the numbers you'll find at a city uni.
Sports Clubs: Plenty, cricket, soccer, hockey, underwater hockey, waterpolo, you name it, theres probably a club for it.... competes mostly through the illawarra competitions and there's always the Unigames fro individual athletes to compete against other unis.
Business/Commerce: Reputation is starting to become very strong, with an increasing number of international ties to the uni, and employers being major industrial firms in the area meaning that employment opportunities are very high and graduates are very much sort after. The workload isn't too much, and can be considered mid range for a uni... usually a 12-14 hour contact hour week.
UAI's are very constant with the same requirements hovering around the current mark for the last 4-5 years.
Hope that helps.
