I need help with this question

" Communities influence our sense of self. Examine this view from the perspective of your community"

Can anyone tell me how am i supposed to examine this view from the perspective of my community? and what does it mean by sense of self does it mean community influence who we are ( personality, self esteem), and what we do.

Sense of self = how you identify yourself

The question is asking you to explore the idea of communities (ie your local/school/sport/etc groups) affecting your sense of identity.
