yes, there is a 'vertical asymptote' at x=1

besides, there is a 'horizontal asymptote' at y=1 as x tends to +ve/-ve infinity

There's no horizontal asymptote, and yes y = x is an asymptote.

y= x+1/x-1 = x-1+2/x-1 = 1+ 2/x-1

So draw 2/x-1 and shift it up 1 unit.
