when doing simple harmonic motion, what is the best way to derive that x double dot equals -xnsquared, by starting and diferentiaing

or

integrating form the end

This is an extension 1 topic. x = acos(nt + $)
Just differentiate for velocity: -ansin(nt + $)
Acceleration: -an<sup>2</sup>cos(nt + $) i.e. -xn<sup>2</sup>
