This is from syd tech 2022 trial question 13c

Jürgen Klopp enters a football tipping competition. The probability that he chooses the winner of any one game is 0.7.In a competition where there are 9games in a round
i) What is the probability that he will choose exactly seven? Answer is 0.2668
ii) ) What is the probability that he will choose less than 7?

When doing ii) I thought it is 1 - P(X>7) so 1 - ( P(x=8) + P(x=9) ) but the answers say otherwise ... is the answers right or wrong

The answers say it is 1 - ( P(x=7) + P(x=8) + P(X=9) )

Part ii asks for the probability that he will choose less than 7, which implies that he does not actually choose 7, but 6,5... ie $\bg_white P(x<7)$

Otherwise your approach to the question is correct, but rather than $\bg_white 1 - P(x>7)$ you would use $\bg_white 1 - P(x\geq7)$.

Right, thanks
