This is from syd tech 2022 trial question 13c

Jürgen Klopp enters a football tipping competition. The probability that he chooses the winner of any one game is 0.7.In a competition where there are 9games in a round
i) What is the probability that he will choose exactly seven? Answer is 0.2668
ii) ) What is the probability that he will choose less than 7?

When doing ii) I thought it is 1 - P(X>7) so 1 - ( P(x=8) + P(x=9) ) but the answers say otherwise ... is the answers right or wrong

The answers say it is 1 - ( P(x=7) + P(x=8) + P(X=9) )

Part ii asks for the probability that he will choose less than 7, which implies that he does not actually choose 7, but 6,5... ie

Otherwise your approach to the question is correct, but rather than you would use .
