does any one have answers to those NEAP practice papers in the chem section of the BOS resource page?

in the meanwhile what bout this ?? ive narrowed it down to 2

Buffers are often found in natural systems. This is because

a) helps to maintain pH of that system at a specific pH

b) helps to maintain pH of that system within a range of pH values

N/A
Depends what you mean by 'range'

Range = 10-14

or 10-11

What do you mean by 'specific'? Does that mean 'constant'? ;)

For example it is 'always' at a pH of 7.

I would say B, but then again, it depends how you interpret it.

buffers are substances which resist changes in pH when small quantities of acids or bases are added to them....

so i think the answer is (a).....actually both can be rt depending on how u interpret it.......the question is ambiguous.....

the q's on the chem resource page NEAP, they suck half of the crap in them are wrong, got me all fucking confused now

another Q goes like this
uranium-238 decays to thorium-234 by "BETA" decay
(i) Write the equation for his decay reaction

its fucking alpha decay dickheads

a pH change of 1 is pretty big and from my extensive knowledge of bio (i knew it would become handy), changes that big could lead to death. i rmbr the range for blood is 7.4 +- 0.1. so anyway, its probably A
