I just saw it today. Can I just say?... it's beautiful???

Especially the use of colour!

I noticed people walking out of this film!!!

My guess is that its either cuz its a tad postmodern with the changing/alternative stories, or because it's very cultural.

Well some would've known what they were in for...

since it's CLEARLY about CHINA?!?

I loved this film. Did you?

i think the story is quite unique. Propagenda perhaps, but still very breathtaking in its cinematography.

Nameless is such a stupid name though.

inner_child, the film was released in 2002. you're only watching it now because quentin tarantino loved it so much that he funded its wider release

the movie came out in asia about two years ago... even more, i think

i saw it the day before yesterday. i didn't really like the plot but it was very artistic, i especially LOVED the scene where they're fighting above the water.

even though i'm chinese (cantonese), my mandarin isn't that great, and i dozed off in one of the fights and when i woke up i'd missed some of the subtitles lol so i was a bit confused for the rest of the movie

tony leung never loses his hotness... i cracked up when his hair went swishing around shampoo-ad style though :p and when zhang ziyi rawwrrred... ahahaha... but yeah she's gorgeous.

overall i thought it was ok :p

have it on dvd for ages, a bit melodramatic for me. i loved the use of camera shots and the fight scenes were up to scratch

I saw it....although the image and effects were brilliant.....I have to really question the meaning to story.....at the end it seems nice the phrase 'all under heaven'....the emperor saying he wants to unite all the countries so there would be no more war....but think about it....is this their justification for taking over Tibet and the soon to be Taiwan....wiping out thousands of years of culture, heritage and values...

It was like eye-candy...I loved how it illustrated themes with colours!

It was kind of like Rashomon (Akira Kurosawa) in the way it concentrates on how the truth is told and the motivations behind different interpretations.

But how cool was it that we only ever saw blood once in the movie! That really for me demonstrated how the movie was concerned with bloodshed not leading to honour.

Anyway, thats my two cents :p

I liked it, though the water scene was pushing it a bit. I liked the first fight: Nameless vs Sky. :D

the nationalist agenda behind it was a bit offputting

but there's no denying the beauty of the movie.
the story was very 'rashomon'-lite

still enjoyed it though

Yes, the landscapes were very pretty and I enjoyed the movie overall.
Great movie in my opinion.
OMG, why'd nameless have to get archered :(
I wish he just killed the emperor, and then was defeated by his elite troops.

But yeah, very tranquil movie ;)
