hey all of you out there, i just saw a movie "KUNDUN" and was wondering that if it suitable to study for the area of journey, i am going to be year 11 next year and are justing looking out for related material.. thanks lot
p.s that movie is talking about this taipei dalai lama , there is physical journey, he travels a lot.. of course there's spirital journey he is a buddist and i think there's a intellutual journey because his view on the world change throughout the movie. so please feel free to give opinion...

Are you accelerating advanced English, or will you begin the HSC advanced english in 2007? If you're the latter, remove yourself from anything related to the journey until then. You'll spend a year grinding your teeth and wanting to kill small backpacking children because of it. Just chill until then.

You could think about what texts you might want to do when the time comes, but don't go writing essays and analysing it yet. There is no need to start early unless you're accelerating.

Yeah good advice plenty of time to think about AOS "journeys" because it doesn't start until the HSC, just chill unless of course you are doing English Advanced accelerated then you might be able to use it depending on your other text types and what techniques you can find and how they relate to the key concept.

im pretty sure that next yr will be a diff. area of study

Although the BOS do change their syllabuses over specified periods, they only change the issue at hand, but most likely it will still in a way relate to Journeys. It's good to understand the text, unfortunately, even if you're in Year 11, you cannot plan ahead for English, owing to the fact that your teacher will be choosing the text-types & modules for you.

Well your right about that aspect just can't use the text I used for AOS: Conflict but the skills I learn't carried over to AOS: Physical Journeys.

Dude, chill out!! you have just started year 11 and u are relating your movies back to HSC supplementary material. trust me enjoy your time while you can! When u reach yr 12 u won't be able to watch a movie, read a book or simply hold a conversation (unconsiously u'll start to make corny jokes about journeys) without analysising them for their journey content.
