democracy when it suits the left
(to get into power with some form of legitimacy so they can more easily erode our freedoms)

I don't recall the left ever trying to topple a democratically elected government in this country by means other than an election. We've seen it happen once in 1975 and we now see a right leaning leader of the opposition attempting to do it again.

yeah i like the nazi's utilisation of the democratic system to attain power over violent revolt (which cant really work in industrialised and stable western countries anyway) and then eliminating the democratic system

its a good plan i intend to imitate it

lie your way into office then seize control

its really no different to what any of the parties do anyway
except with the excellent economic situation we are in, there is no need to scapegoat any minorities etc genocide lol

I voted for the NSW Libs but I'm not a conservative (in a holistic sense)

Everyone else was doing it and I just wanted to be popular
You don't have sylvy's track record

Gillard in her presser seems to be attacking the High Court, trying to shift blame to them. You can’t attack the umpire. The High Court did not ‘change the law’. It did its job which is to merely uphold the law as it stands. Other considerations are irrelevant. The executive does not operate above the law. Its actions need to be consistent with it. The court held the executive was not acting in accordance with the current law. Nothing stops the Parliament from changing the law to give the executive the power to implement the policy. The executive cannot just do whatever it wants.

Extraordinary. It is not the court's role to allow illegal executive actions for political, policy or even practical reasons. That is a job for the legislature.

JULIA Gillard has launched an extraordinary attack on the High Court of Australia as her political defence in the wake of its rejection of her Malaysian asylum-seeker swap deal.
