I'm so over summer right now, mainly because I spent New Years Day being evacuated from my boyfriend's house via a tiny tin boat with his heavy cat in tow.
Heard about those Central Coast fires? Last night I could see the flames of two major ones from my front yard. Thankfully no one I know lost their homes, but a friend's car got burnt and quite a few people I know were evacuated from their places.
In conclusion - summer is good when it doesn't involve the possible destruction of life and or property.

Ouch!

The red haze of fires is visable from my front lawn too - it's about half an hour away, although we've got the Hawksbury between us and it. Had a fire a few years back within about 50m of my house though, that was scary... thankfully it was reasonably small and put out by midnight
