To address hipsta_jess' original question, it depends a lot on your area, and will also vary between Uni's. For example, in my Honours, we were marked out of 2200, which was made up (roughly, from memory) of:
500 based on undergraduate performance
500 based on thesis
200 based on departmental seminar on your research work
800 marks from Supervisor, looking at things like dedication, originality / creativity, ...
200 based on two coursework courses - ie a 100 mark exam each semester based on a series of 6 departmental seminars given by an eminent visiting scholar
In other words, coursework was pretty minor. In a department like Maths, where Honours students do comparatively little original work, there is a much stronger coursework component.
