Is there anyone who did badly during year 11 in ext 1 maths, but eventually did well in 4u maths and is this possible?

ofcourse, its an entirely new syllabus...

I think I've told you this before Dimsimmer
try 4unit, see if you can handle it, and if the trials
get too much for you drop it

I probably didnt do "badly" in yr 11...
but your first 4unit test will be challenging to
weed out all of those who cant handle it

If you did bad, your teacher will probably try to talk you out of it as they are concerned for you. They will only encourage you or GLADLY accept you if you have done well. They don't want you to fall behind, get bad marks or to drop it.
By the way, the HSC is a step higher and Ext 2 is another step higher.

Well if you can't solve this problem, I don't think you should do 4U maths....

hehe, ok all joking aside, if you study your ass off in Yr12, and are prepared to work hard for 4U, you'll do fine. Of course if you don't get maths, then just stick with 3U, but chances are you're just being lazy in yr 11, no pressure and so on, so yeh. I am sure it'll be ok, from personal experience my Yr 11 marks sucked, but I am doing ok in 4U now.

I think I got something like 12th for 3U and 19th in 2U for my prelims. I came 3rd for 4U this year. Depends how much you work you are willing to put into it really. 4U is as hard as you make it. ;)
