A lot of posters on these forums have argued that the engineering faculty (particularly civil & electrical) at sydney is a lot worse than unsw & uts. Then again, most ppl maintain that as long as you get good marks, it doesn't matter which uni you go to.

What is your opinion?

get a gpa of 6+ and u will get picked up no matter which uni u went to. but really only 2% of the students end up getting an overall gpa of 6

yeah, i realize this. I was just wondering why then is there such a big deal about sydney being shit?

i wouldnt bet 4 or 5 years of life to study at a bad faculty.
then again unsw is the supreme choice.

I've heard that Engineering faculty isn't that great, yeah.

And from my judgement of the science buildings at USYD, and the high tech Law buildings, that seems to hold true.

UNSW definitely seems to be the better technical school. USYD is better at humanities and stuff though. And I'm just a current Yr 12 student, no bias.

IMO, the worst thing about Usyd is it isn't very flexible.


Also fluid mechanics in the Civil school is (apparently) well shite.
