Hi,

I want to find the speed of ma cable broadband.
Any ideas?

Download a file from your provider and look at the speed ?

There's a nifty test here you can try - it is based in America though, so it's an approximate.

There has been an error. This page has been locally cached and as a result it has returned a figure of 81600 kbps.

To try the measurement again hold down the ctrl key and hit the refresh or reload button on your browser.

But how come I can usually download at 500KB/sec when my supposed transfer rate was 207KB/sec
EDIT: yes i believe the Optus mirror is much faster

maybe its because im downloading something at the same time, which is running at 200kbps
Hrmmm, or maybe its because of wireless internet, which shares connecttion speeds or something

yeah i have the same problem

but its alot better after bigpond took the cap off after 10gigs :mad:

sometimes theyre a bit dodgy when it comes to capping you

i mean ive downloaded around 30 gigs b4 they capped me, but last month they capped me right on 10gigs :(

EFF those Bigpond people. Capping us at exactly 10 gigs without warning. Those bastards!!

yeah i want to get away with some extra downloading :( but they wont let me it seems

damn contracts

why do they even bother advertising unlimited plans then? its misleading
