i wrote this in another thread but its probably better here.
i don't know whether this stuff has already been said or whether it helps but meh! thats my two cents. good luck!
(yr 12 adv english it's not that hard, i promise. but you really do have to give it a fair decent go.)
english: READ YOUR TEXTS, don't put it off, you'll stress out the longer you leave it. Be organised, and file your notes for each module. Make the most of your teachers, they're there to help. Don't rely on study guides, markers can tell when you've written for them. try and shape your own ideas and opinions, it's not hard if you've listened in class and actually read the text. Always write with high modality, even if your unsure. Practise essays are good, and so are guide questions.i reccomend starting summarising everything as you go.
after each day, get a seperate book and summarise everything you've done in class that day, one for each subject. keep reading everything you've written over and over again.
that way, come exam time, you already have comprehensive notes to study from - and you don't have to frantically scribble notes the day/week/hour before your assessments.
i planned to do that from the start. if i wasn't so lazy, i reckon this would of increased my marks considerably.
