Ok so here's my slightly convoluted situation. I finished HSC in 2004 got a 79.45 UAI and got into arts/science at sydney uni. i dropped out after a semester, then the following year used my UAI to get into business at UNE. Did well first year, then failed and dropped out in second year.

So anyway my situation now is that I am keen to give uni another shot, but I'm not sure exactly what I need to get in again. Is my UAI still relevant? Can I get in on UAI alone or will uni's be also looking at other things, such as the fact that I've dropped out of two degrees?
Not to mention the fact that the one year of uni I actually passed I did very well in, is there any chance I can make use of that?
I'm a bit confused about all this, any help would be greatly appreciated.

You shouldve either applied through UAC or just go and talk to the relevant uni + faculty your interested in. Since you completed your hsc in 04 you must be a mature age student (21+), hence its easier to get in + youve already got accepted into uni before.

Have you ever considered Tafe? Just get a diploma then work and do uni part time, it will be easier on you. Also what uni course are you interested in?
Good luck.

your UAI is not relevant anymore.

only your LAST ATTEMPTED COURSE. which is UNE.

work out your GPA in that course. assume you passed 10; failed 2, you probably got a GPA of around 3/7 ... which is an equivalent UAI of around 70 (just a guess)

so yes it is possible. what course are u looking at?

it's not too late to apply on the UAC website. But you have to pay quite a large late fee.

not that expensive $120, u can be considered for the Late round.

application by jan22

so worth a try, better than waiting 1 year and then trying and then may or may not get in.

at least if you try now, and if you dont get in, you can work your way to get in at 2009, like do a 1 year tafe course to get your grades up.
