As the question, how can I know if the magnetic flux is a positive value or a negative value? I searched that positive flux leaves a closed surface, and negative flux enters a closed surface. If this the case, does this mean the flux below an area would be different from the flux above an area?

I though magnetic flux was a scalar quantity, so wouldn't the negative imply that it is a vector?

its scalar but can be both positive and negative, because its derived from integration I think, which can be negative

Look up signed scalars. Scalars can have a sign since they’re a value relative to something. Temperature u might wrongly say is a vector because -10 degrees C, but if you take it relative to absolute zero it’s always positive. The sign is not a direction but more so something to indicate its magnitudes value.
