I do...

Ext 2 English
Ext 1 English
Adv English
Ext 2 Maths
Ext 1 Maths
French Continuers
Physics
Chemistry

thanks. so that I can have a goal to work towards.

Oh GOsh, somehow, I just think i won't make it.
let's be a little more realistic

I go to Pennant Hills High, a good school but not a selective. not sure its rank last year

Ext 2 English 3/7
Ext 1 English 41/50 Rank: 2/21 (but I don't think i am gonna perform well in this at all)
Adv English 90/100 Rank: 3/89 (don't think i can achieve the same in the real HSC as well)
Ext 1 Maths 74/100 R: 13/40
Ext 2 Maths 50/100 R: 9/12 (raw independant paper trial mark)
Chemistry 76/100 R: 16/44
Physics 68/100 (raw) R: 4/35
French Continuers (Open High School) 79.5/100 R: 28/67

~sigh~ need some encouragement here... please help me with a more 'accurate' estimate. I bought the UAI seeker but I want you guys' advice

You definitely won't need to perform as well if you did other subjects.

Mostly band 5's and 4 -should- suffice.

I thought max was 14units

Anway - not sure about 3/4u eng coz i dont do them =P
but i rckn 75% raw in 3u, and 60% raw in 4u, 85+ in physics and eng advanced.

Well, thats what im aiming for and im sure those marks are on track to 90+uai ;)

You can do as many units as you like if they allow, I think. I remember a post about someone doing 25 units a few years ago.

2000th post!

Time to sleeeep.

I don't see why not

the only compulsory subject is 2units of English and that's not limited to Advanced.

If you do 4 units of ENglish, all four can be counted. if your Advanced do badly and that 3 and 4 units do really well in comparison to other subjects, then the 3 and 4 units may be counted as your compulsory instead of the Advanced.

If there's 4unit sciece, I would have chosen it.

sorry I don't know who he is. I've only attended their classes once coz I joined this year. I probably have met him but not too sure. i wouldn't have a clue about his rank or anyone's at Open High School.

ahem.

The Universities Admission Index (UAI) is calculated by the universities.
To be eligible for a UAI a student must complete at least 10 units (including at least
two units of English) of Board Developed Courses for which there are formal
examinations conducted by the Board of Studies. The Board Developed Courses must
include at least three courses of two units or greater and at least four subjects.
interpret that as you will.

EDIT: ah sorry, there was a bit more

The UAI will be based on an aggregate of scaled marks in 10 units of Board
Developed Courses comprising the best two units of English and the best eight units
from the remaining units, subject to the provision that no more than two units of
Category B courses be included.
