i've been trying (not very hard) to grow my hair for about a year now, however have been unsuccessful. i get my haircut every 4-6 weeks because it is desperately required. my head turns into a buff and no hair product can tame it, atleast none that ive come across.

i wanna put i back kinda like orlando bloom
or

sorry about the size

what should i tell the hairdresser when i get my hair cut? i usually say im tyring to grow it out and just want it thinned and the sides trimmed up however this doesnt seemed to have worked because my hair still aint very long.

and what sort of hair product should i be looking for? i think need pomade but im not sure

and who should i got to for haircuts? mens salons where the kinda do crew cuts on everyone, or a chicks place where they offer mens haircuts?

thanks for any advice

well its best to like not go to a mens barber, cos theyll be like "LOL HERES YUOR HAIRCUT KTHXBAI", go to a hairdresser place thingy and explain to them what j00 want (and as teh mr brightside said, show them a pic if posible) and yeah... they might be like "LOL NO NOT YET" but they can trim it accordingly (might take a couple of visits till its the correct length) and like, recommend you stuff to use in your hair.

Also it depends on ur hair type.... whether ur caucasian, asian or african.

asian hair is typically fine and straight whilst african hair is tightly curled and caucasians have yje best of both worlds.

I had the same problem, and I went to a hairdresser for the first time in years about a month ago and asked them what the best thing to do was, and they said the only thing that will work is to get it chemically straightened, which is what I got done and which actually works. Its pretty expensive, around $100 but not only does it straighten your hair and make it longer, it also gets rid of the boofiness, and its meant to last 3-4 months. So yeah, if you're willing to pay that, I'd recommend it , otherwise theres not much else you can do

Well with hair straightening the $100 depends on how long your hair is..
Different places offer different prices..
