Honestly I just memorised a few ChatGPT responses for the writing section and adapted them in the exam. I did the same for the speaking section as well lol. But it worked mainly because I had already learned the vocabulary and grammar outside of school

how did you learn vocabulary and grammar outside of school? and what mark did you end up getting?

not sure how relevant this thread is anymore! the best thing you can do is just practice in your target language. i take korean, and i've found that the way i've improved the most is just writing in and trying to speak in the language whenever i get the chance to. even if you don't have people around you who speak it, it's good to just practice alone. that being said, if you can find a conversational partner, that'd be good! there's plenty of other japanese learners online, i'm sure you can.
