How do your externals affect your marks? (1 Viewer)

I have a confusion about the HSC system. If someone has a band 6 internally and a mark of high 90's yet they get a band 5 in the externals what final mark are they going to get for the subject? Assuming they are first in that subject.

Are you really sure? What about their great internal mark?
If that was the case, why wouldn't every school make their exams easy af so all of them can get 99+, get a better reputation = more moneys

It just serves as a gradient against your classmates for how your external mark is aligned. That's my understanding anyway lmao.
