sorry guys this will be my last question for this project. = D

i just need a lot more detailed explanation on how antifreeze prevents water from freezing.

all i know is that it lowers the freezing point and increases the boiling point of water which would preveent it from freezing.

um is that all or is there something more in depth?

if there's a site that would be good! = D i tried like howtusffworks.com and wikipedia but they're still crap.

PLEASE HELP IT'S LIKE DUE NEXT WEEK.

Ethylene will react with oxygen to form ethylene oxide in the presence of a silver catalyst at 2500C. This can be converted to ethylene glycol by reacting it with dilute sulfuric acid.

2CH2CH2 + O2 --> 2CH2(O)CH2

CH2(O)CH2 + H2O --> CH2(OH)CH2(OH)

Ethylene glycol is useful as an automotive antifreeze.

YES that's just what i need. thanks a lot!
