So for MX2, if you get a mark of say 60/120, that equates to a HSC mark of 83 (according to Shadowdude 2010 HSC)

Say you did MX1 aswell and get a mark of 50/84 - around the 83 mark aswell (a complete guess, correct me if im wrong)

How come after this process of moderation/aligning in which the 50% raw -> 83 HSC mark and a 60% raw -> 83 HSC mark.. the marks still produce DIFFERENT "Scaled Marks" e.g. MX2 83 HSC mark = 44.8 Scaled Mark, where MX1 83 HSC mark = 41.6 Scaled Mark.

Shouldn't the aligning process already take into account the difference in difficulties? How come this is further compounded by scaling? How does this work?
