How does our course rank affect our HSC marks? (1 Viewer)

So im ranked 4th in the year for economics and some of my friends who are ranked 5th and 6th did better than me in the hsc eco exam. How will this affect my hsc eco exam mark?
I've heard a teacher explaining that the top student in our school receives the top hsc exam mark in our school even if he/she didn't get highest mark, and the 2nd ranked student gets the 2nd highest mark and so on... anyone know how the rankings work and is it the same for every subject?

Hmm according to the vid whatever we get for our hsc exam mark is what we get, only our marks from internal exams are moderated. lol that means whatever my teacher has been telling me is absolute bullshit, top kid gets top hsc exam mark 2nd kid gets 2nd highest mark etc...

Your teacher is misleading you. You keep your own HSC exam mark, that's what you achieve. Your school mark is moderated, that's dependent on how you went throughout the year as well as your cohort's HSC exam performance.
