how does our hsc assessment mark get determined? (1 Viewer)

my friend told me that our assessment rank determines our assessment mark.. For example:
(hypothetically)
I come 5th in english and have an assessment rank of 5. Therefore the mark that i get on my hsc report for my assessment mark will be the 5th highest hsc exam mark that people in my cohort/group have obtained.

eg 5th highest hsc exam mark is 90. therefore since i am ranked 5th i will get 90 as my assessment mark.

is this true?
