Ok say you got a bad ATAR but you still signed up for the course at the school you wanted. You get rejected and want to re-submit your application. Since this would be in the five year time frame that you can re-take courses, would it be a great idea to retake the courses you performed horribly at TAFE so that you can improve your ATAR and have a better chance in the next submission?

PS. I am new to this function of the ATAR, can anyone explain to me how this work? It would be really comforting if ever the most annoying totally lame were to occur. And can you take new courses as well in this manner?

If you did say Modern History and got a mark of 60 and redid the course next year and got 80 then your ATAR would be adjusted upwards to take into account your improved mark but...

if you new mark went down so can your ATAR as only your last attempt at any subjects counts.
