In reverse to your question, History Extension was not capped in 2003, but for 2004 it was capped.Trebla said:Has a course ever been capped in one year and not capped the next?
If so can you work out if a course has been capped or not in that year?
The maximum scaled mark was less than 50 (on a 1-unit basis).Trebla said:How did you know it was capped in 2004 and not 2003?
You can't tell whether or not it's going to be capped prior to the HSC exams. Capping is based on the quality of the candidature completing that course. Basically, if the candidature is poorer than in other years it may be capped. It prevents students from "dumbing down" to subjects in which it's easier to attain a high rank due to the less able candidature.lesmiester_dj said:why the hell was history extension capped?! i thought it was the poor subjects that get capped?! i do history extension. it better not be capped this year?! how will you know whether it will be capped this year?
