I’m actually so mad with my Mod A mark. Lost a mark because I “didn’t write enough”… even though I literally squeezed in over 1200 words in the final minutes. Like I was already told by my class teacher to cut down to 1000 words, which I did. But the teacher who marked my paper thought I didn’t write enough because I only filled in 2 writing booklets??

Sorry but I have thin handwriting that fits 7–8 words a line. And bros feedback was: “Analysis is sufficient and detailed. Would’ve liked to see more.” More WHAT? More waffle? More pages?

they even said that I answered the question directly and that I had clear thesis, structure, textual analysis and still got marked down over vague “style” preferences the teacher never even explained. It just feels so subjective. Like unless you write exactly how they want (even if they don’t explain what that is), you’re stuck.

Just so annoyed because I worked so hard, followed my teacher’s advice, and still got penalised over things I can’t control. 😩

teachers are so indecisive when it comes to this, I've seen mine complain about how students 'write too much' but also 'write too little' like ??? what do u want from us bro 💔
generally 1200 should be enough, I don't know how they expect us to write more under that measly ass time limit

No the front is the name, second is writing, third is writing and fourth is writing so 3 writing pages
so its one paper and one page
cause my school gave us a hsc exam booklet for business and it was like 7 pages so idk. Maybe English is different. Edit: nvm they gave us the school's hsc booklet so yeah it will be different

bro im going to be lucky if I can even complete one booklet. in 40 minutes I could probably only write 900 words if I want my analysis to actually be thought-out and good 😭 so cooked for trials

as an hsc marker wemail tend to look for around 900 words because the short succinct essays in mod A adv will most likely get a bette4 mark than detailed ones with fancy words . It’s how mich you can write in 40 minutes that matters most .
as an HSC marker I’m inviting you to please free to pm any questions or comments you wish to ask

My mod an essay has 1400 words which I genuinely don’t know how to cut down on any further. It had 1600 at first but I cut down, and in the exam I know I probably subconsciously cut down so I was able to fit it all in 40 minutes with no time left. It’s really long cause I have a 4 body paragraph 4 quotes per paragraph structure, should I try cut down or leave it? (I got 19/20 but also a handwriting warning cause I was scrambling to finish it)

1200 words is more then enough. Your teacher is an op.
