I’ve read that 8 is the required amount of courses for each year which is three per term with one term having only two courses.
I’ve also heard that you can do up to three courses per term.

So would you recommend doing nine instead of eight courses in my first year of uni? What are the pros and cons for each and how many courses do most people chose?

Thanks in advance

I've been told numerous times that most people do 9 courses. I mean really it's not gonna make a difference.

Might as well do 9 so you can get everything finished quicker

Depends on the University (You didn't specify?).

At Macquarie we have semesters and have three "sessions".

Session 1 and 2 you are suggested to undertake 4 subjects (3 is still classified as a full load). In session 3 you can do maximum of two subjects (it is a smaller length of time so you have more hours per unit each week as the content is 'taught faster').
