i think we speak around 100 to 125 words per minute... i may be wrong, so
4.5 x 100 or 125 is 450 to 562 words approx.

and then again, it just depends on how many words you have per page.

timing yourself is the best way to plan it.
And always write about 30 seconds more because most people tend to talk quicker when they're presenting than when they're reading it at home.

I guess I speak really slow...? I did a speech just a few weeks ago with aprox 1200 words and that took me precisely 8 minutes. However it was one of those recorded speeches so I paced myself.

..that must be why I assumed 500 =S

I had around 950 words in my 4:30 minute long legal speech last year, so I'd look a little less then that, since that was just me speaking extremely quickly.
