hey..
someones prolly asked what subjects everyones doin, but i just wanna know in units wise..
feel free to list ur subjects;) ...

im only doing 11 units: 4u math, adv eng, sor1, biz, eco

and do you think the more units you do, the better chance of getting a higher UAI?..
what are ur thoughts?

I think the general trend is that if you do more units, you get a higher UAI. for example, those people who do in excess of 15units. Personally, i do 13 units for a couple of reasons. Having backup being one and secondly because im equally strong across all my subjects.

mmm...i would agree, but its just that...u can spend more time concentrating on the subjects that ur doing or good at.
having 'backup subjects' would help if ur stuffing up on one, but with less subjects to deal with, u can spend more time on 5 subjects instead of 7 or 8

and no.....more units just equals more work......dont fall for the trap of doing more than 12 units.....15 is too excessive, u'll just end up doing a lot more work than required.
12 units is good (presuming u do all 2 unit subjects) as that allows u breathing space if u stuff up 1 sub
i know people who only did 10 units and got 99.85+.....just concentrate on acheiving high marks in ur small number of subs rather than spreading ur concentration over 100 million diff subs

I do 11 units, have at least some backup but it will stop me from making a subject a bludge subject since it will count.

why would u do more than 15 units??? well unless u did like all extension subjects and u had to have 4 different subjects.. like 4u maths 4u english 3u history 3u something else..
well thats still 14
i did 14 last yr.. it sucked
on my bday i had like 4 assessments due..

People who do more than 15 units are usually those who have accelerated in earlier years. And since they already completed couple of subjects which are likely to be in the top bands, then they have a good chance of getting a very high UAI.

In both prelim and hsc i did 13 units(which I regret so much)
I did;
sor 1
english adv
general maths
legal
pdhpe
italian
greek
I ended up doing better than I expected (92.8) but the subject I didn't want to count (pe) ended up counting which was shit because I spent so much time on Greek which didn't count, 1 unit of maths also didn't count
My advice only do 11 or 12 units MAX otherwise you will go nuts and not leave yourself enough time
