I feel behind as I haven't really written much of my major. 8000 words short story is suprisingly so long! So help me get into gear and tell me how much you've done.

I've done about 3,200 words

I've been working on ideas and excerpts since last year now...I'm the kind of person that doesn't write for ages and then writes a ton in one hit. But so far, I've written only about 500 words.

3000 words so far for my Critical Response. The wordlimit is less for the CR, so I'm not all that far away from finishing. I suspect that I'll be drafting a number of times, though.

Frankly, by now you should've already had 8000 words and you're just editing. I went to an EX2 day at Wenona and they recommended 50% of the time you should be writing, and the other 50% you should be editing.

Now for me, I finished my first 8000 words back in late January of the year I did my HSC in, and just edited it until submission day - including a very memorable edit the day before.
