Perhaps try for on-campus living scholarships, I know UNE does them.-may-cat- said:My marks are pretty good, but I dont have things like 'other commitments', my family and i just honestly dont have enough money to put me through uni, even with HECS.
You need a combination of both. Obviously they arent going to give a scholarship to an idiot just because they have done lots of extracurricular activities, but they wont give it to someone who isnt and all rounder either.nerdsforever said:Do you need a high UAI to apply for a scholarship? Or do you also need to have commitments like debating, competition, community service?
Have a look around at some uni's scholarship pages - most do offer some kind of assistance/scholarship to people with financial problems, even if it isnt a full scholarship. Plus, I dont think they will require as many 'other commitments' as it is for financial assistance as a pose to normal scholarships who are given even to people who would have no trouble paying for uni.-may-cat- said:My marks are pretty good, but I dont have things like 'other commitments', my family and i just honestly dont have enough money to put me through uni, even with HECS.
