How to become an accountant (1 Viewer)

Hey guys,

So my parents want my brother to become an accountant. Unfortunately he doesn't know what paths to take to become one.

I myself am aiming for the medical field so you would imagine i have no idea about this area so i wouldn't be able to help him out, lol.

If i am correct he has to do a commerce degree or something? Anyone willing to share the exact procedure , greatly appreciated.

Basically a business/commerce degree majoring in accounting is the place to start, followed by the professional accreditation (CPA or CA) which is generally done in the first few years of employment once you have graduated.

Of course an "accountant" is a pretty general term, as is the advice given.
