In person seems to be more genuine. You could easily lie on the phone/net, etc.

I think people don't respond well to when you give the real, legitimate answer. Saying, "look, seriously, I'm just very bored of this relationship and you're not really what I'm looking for" doesn't go down as well as the cliched and sanitised "it's me, not you". We're culturally conditioned to accept and use the easier, desensitised version, and frankly, that's what I prefer to do :p

Yeah, I guess so...but it is too cliched. I mean, you wouldn't go off and say "you're boring", but you wouldn't use a cliched line like that...so that leaves you with no reasoning at all for your break up :p
