We are supposed to research a chemical reaction, but I honestly got no clue how to create a question that adheres to the specification of the assignment.

When I tried to compose a question, all i could come up with were questions like "how is x reaction started" and that is a stupid question.

Seriously guys I am desperate

Could you give us some info on what type of reaction you're doing? most teachers are just looking for keyword in the question

Sure, we are researching the creation of various types of chemicals, such as the haber process. I don't want to reveal more as that might compromise my identity.

I would really appreciate it if you could give pointers on how to compose a question thanks

I really don't have a clue what you're trying to ask here because you're being quite vague.

A few questions that you might want to learn about a chemical reaction can include:
  • Can the reaction be used to create functional compounds? Are there any known examples and how is the reaction used to help make these compounds?
  • What issues could you face when running this reaction? For example, is there any potential for side reactions, sensitivities (e.g. water or air), equilibrium (thus, incompletion), or notable safety issues?
  • What reaction conditions could be changed to optimise the reaction? Reaction optimisation usually adjusts concentration, temperature, additives (e.g. base), catalysts, and the solvent.
  • Are there alternative reactions to generate the same functionality? For example, Fischer esterification is the well-known method to form esters, but there are the Yamaguchi and Mitsunobu reactions that general similar motifs.

Thanks man, really helped me think of what a question should be
