particularly when doing an auxiliary angle qn, and you've expressed the eqn in that form

the question i'm doing specifically is finding the minimum value of sinx - sqrt3 cosx after expressing it in an auxiliary angle method, but i was wondering what the specific method is. thanks in advance

the max value should be 2 and min should be -2
This is because:
-1<=sinx<=1
therefore: -1<=sin(x-pi/3)<=1
therefore: -2(min)<=2sin(x-pi/3)<=2(max)---> {I got this equation when I converted form using R-method}
This is most likely the best reasoning/working for ur qn

@5uckerberg bro can u confirm if I'm right just so I ain't giving smn misleading du methods?
yea auxiliary method is R-method (ngo calls it transformation lmfao), i got the same. and that makes sense, though clarification would also be cool, thanks very much for the help!
