How to know whether I should do Maths or English Ext 2? (1 Viewer)

I am studying both Maths Ext 1 and English Ext 1 in year 11. How will I know whether or not I am capable of doing extension 2 in maths and/or English based off year 11?
Is there a certain mark I should be getting that will indicate that I am ready?

ngl mark depends on your school
For 4U Math, if you believe yourself to be a strong math student and are willing to put in the work, you should be able to do it. Keep in mind that 4U is quite a lot harder than 3U.

for 4u math you should look at your marks. a band 6 result in e1 or high ranking in your e1 cohort is a good indication you might do well in 4u but it also depends bc i dont know what your school is like. you might also want to think about your work ethic and things like that. also if you are struggling in y11 e1 math i dont reccommend taking e2 because it gets significantly harder.

for 4u english its about whether or not you have good composition skills or not, and whether or not you are motivated and organised bc 4u english is major work based. id get feedback from your e1 english teacher on any creative projects or work that you have been composing on your own. e1 english marks are not the best indictor of success in e2 but ultimately if youre good at e1 maybe youll be good at e2 as well?
