GENS4015 Brave New World
This wholly Internet-delivered course aims to give a big picture overview of the physical sciences at the dawn of the 21st century and beyond. The most common interface between the general public and science is often through science fiction; hence, science fiction is used as a teaching aid to stimulate student interest and as a starting point from which to communicate the science, and its likely future development. This course also examines the interaction between science and society, encouraging students to consider how culture influences science and vice versa. The areas covered are: the physics of space and time; astronomy; space travel and exploration; astrobiology: life in the Universe; computers & robotics, artificial intelligence & human intelligence; the future of the human race.

I reckon that sounds pretty interesting :D

I'm doing:

ACTL2003 Stochastic Models
MATH2601 Higher Linear Algebra
HIST2661 Ancient History 2 : Rome

And maybe:

MATH2910 Higher Statistical Computing

And the two subjects I'm not doing that I should be doing are:

MATH2130 Higher Differential Equations
MATH2931 Higher Linear Models

My Commerce/Science degree recommends that I do all of the subjects above (except the history). I choose to underload and do history because I'm sick of Commerce/Science. Plus I don't want to fail the first truly hard actuarial subject.

That's nothing, my wednesday this semester used to be from 9-9,well 9-7:30 really, but the lab ended up being way longer extending it to about 9/10, and the only break I had on that day was from 4-5, all the other hours were either lectures or tut's, thats pain :(
it's more the 4 hrs in a row from 10-2 that's getting to me, rather than the 5 hrs all up :p. last semester 3 hrs in a row was the longest i had and that was draining

A query: If I failed a class, what happens? Would I still continue with the subject next semester? and when would I have to re-take the one I failed?

It can make things really complicated.

If you fail a core subject, you will definately have to do it again. If that core subject you failed was a pre req to other subjects that you need to do, you can't go forwards in your program until you have passed the subject since you wouldn't have met the pre reqs for the subjects in session 2.
